Grantmaking & Project Management
Building upon client interests in the arts and aging, The Philanthropic Group created and implemented an "Art in Our Neighborhoods" program. Annually proposals were invited from nonprofits across New York City, and ten were funded to teach older people to create original art works. Each grantee hosted its own neighborhood art exhibition, from which jurors selected works to showcase in a month-long citywide exhibit of elders' art in the gallery of an international pharmaceutical corporation. Coordinated by The Philanthropic Group, a curator and a publicist assured significant recognition by the news media, including the Wall Street Journal.
